About Me
My name is Carmen Rae Weitzel and I grew up in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I lived with my parents, older brother, and many cats and dogs! Shortly after high school, I moved to the city and completed a Bachelors degree in English Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1998, I moved to California for the beaches and sunshine.
Shortly after arrival, I began booking pet sitting jobs as a part time job because it felt natural to me. During this time, in my 20's, I worked in a few different careers to find the perfect fit, including working at a bar review company for law graduate students for three years, to working as a clinical staff assistant at a psychiatric inpatient facility for two years. I also had the opportunity to complete a Masters degree in basic Psychology from Pepperdine University.
As I continue on my career path, I am finding that the time I have spent with these animals has been a gift. Creating a pet care business has been the most rewarding job I can imagine, and the reason I started A CAT'S BEST FRIEND. Trust that your home and pets are in responsible hands because I truly enjoy going to work each day. Thank you for reading!
